How we rate and review
The app listing and guide library use different evidence. This page explains the upstream commercial score, what the editorial desk checks, and the claims readers should not infer.
How we rate
How the Sherpa Score works
The Sherpa Score is a feed-supplied commercial signal shown out of 10. The current app does not expose a reproducible per-component formula, and the editorial desk has not independently tested every brand or reproduced every score. It should be treated as a discovery aid, not proof of quality, compatibility, safety or likely outcomes:
- Upstream score. The displayed order comes from a feed-supplied score. The editorial desk has not reproduced the upstream model or independently scored every app.
- Audience label. Cards summarize feed-supplied audience text into a broad persona. Treat that as a discovery filter, not verified demographic research or an outcome prediction.
- Free-tier label. The feed may mark an app free to start. Features, prices and limits can change, so confirm the current provider terms before relying on the label.
The editorial desk has not reproduced the upstream score.
What we check
What the editorial desk can evidence
- Commercial listing. Generated from the current vendored feed. It is not a record of a fresh hands-on review by the editorial desk.
- Guide evidence. Collection guides list the authoritative or primary guidance used, access dates, publication and update dates.
- Safety language. Guides describe risk-reduction options without promising safety or making a victim responsible for another person’s conduct.
- Corrections. Substantive article changes should update the visible date. We do not promise a response time.
Scope
What we leave out
The current feed adapter excludes a defined set of affair and explicit adult-hookup brands. That is a publishing-scope decision, not a safety or quality approval of every brand left in the listing. See our honesty page for our editorial standards.
Who reviews
The DatingSherpa editorial desk
Reviews and guides are produced and maintained by the DatingSherpa editorial desk. We model it as an honest collective editorial voice rather than a fabricated named “expert.”

If a pricing detail, persona tag or verdict is out of date or wrong, email [email protected]. We assess reports and, when a guide is substantively corrected, should update its visible modification date. Response times are not guaranteed.
